ASE Receives Honorary Award from the Kaohsiung City Government for Outstanding Contribution
Kaohsiung, Taiwan, December 22, 2016 – The ASE Group today received an award for outstanding contribution from Chen Ju, Mayor of Kaohsiung City at the 7th anniversary Kaohsiung City Outstanding Japanese Corporation Award. This award recognizes the significant value that ASE, through its joint venture with TDK (named ASE Embedded Electronics Inc) has made to the economic prosperity of Kaohsiung.
In May 2015, ASE and TDK announced a joint venture to manufacture embedded substrates that will drive both companies towards market leadership in setting the industry standard for semiconductor miniaturization in portable and wearable consumer devices. The manufacturing facility for the joint venture is located in the Kaohsiung Nantze Export Processing Zone.
