ASE’s update on COVID-19

On Mar 11, the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 a global pandemic. Since then, there has been a sharp increase in confirmed cases and unabated transmission globally. The number of cases has already crossed the 200,000 mark, with almost 9,000 fatalities. Globally, the number of cases and deaths have even surpassed those in China since the beginning of the outbreak.

Many countries including those where ASE has a major presence in, have updated and imposed more stringent measures to try and contain the spread this week. Measures have included school closures, strict border checks, 14-day quarantine for passengers entering each country, barring of foreign visitors without residence/approvals, and restricted movement controls.

To protect the health and safety of our employees and their families, we have continued to revise our policies on the measurements at each of our facility worldwide (including employee housing estates) and comply with local government health and safety regulations closely.

Factories have stopped visits from non-ASE personnel, unless absolutely necessary.

 – meetings are now conducted through phonecalls and web/video conferencing.

 – office meetings are limited to small groups and only when necessary.

Non-manufacturing/sales offices have allowed staggered work hours and work from home arrangement for staff.

Overseas business travel is suspended. Employees are advised to defer any personal trips abroad.

Mandatory quarantine for any employee who has returned from abroad, or who was in close contact with anyone returning from abroad, or in close contact with any confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Employees are to practice social distancing, personal hygiene including washing hands with soap and water, use of hand sanitizers.

Temperature monitoring for all employees/visitors upon entry/exit of the facility.

Cleaning and disinfecting of cafeterias, changing rooms, meeting rooms and other public common areas.

We at Team ASE, are united in our mission to fight the COVID-19 and continue to serve all our customers to our best ability. We are braving an unknown enemy and we look forward to your support so that we may together conquer and win this battle.
