Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Mar 14th, 2019. Advanced Semiconductor Engineering, Inc (ASE) a leading semiconductor assembly and test service provider, today hosted the ASE Group supplier award ceremony. Each year, the event honors suppliers that had demonstrated outstanding performance in categories such as technology, quality, cost, service as well as sustainability. Over 460 representatives from 120 companies that supplied assembly and test equipment, raw materials, components, engineering support services and various value-added services were in attendance. This year, ASE was also extremely honored to have the presence of officials from the local government and executives from high profile industry-related organizations and academia at the event.

‘Close collaboration with our supply chain partners continue to play an important role in extending the positive influence of sustainability in our industry,’ says Dr Tien Wu, Chief Executive Officer, ASE Group. ‘In addition, we have established a long term roadmap to achieve the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through low carbon emission, recycling, social integration and value creation. This is further reflected in the 2018 supplier sustainability award category, where a supplier’s SDG performance is included in the selection criteria. ASE is fully committed to transform the OSAT and semiconductor industry by playing a leadership role within the supply chain and cultivate excellent performance from all partners towards achieving business goals and meaningful progress in sustainability,’ Dr Wu reaffirms.

‘Supply chain partners are instrumental in enabling ASE to further its business and innovations. Going forward, ASE aims to adopt a more strategic view on procurement as a value-driver to forge long-term strategic relationships with our important suppliers, to ultimately increase our value contribution to customers,’ says Andrew Tang, Chief Procurement Officer, ASE Group.

The annual supplier event will kick off with the ‘Outstanding Supplier’ and ‘Excellence in Sustainability’ award presentations, followed by keynote speeches from Niven Huang, General Manager of KPMG Sustainability Consulting and Terry Tsao, Chief Marketing Officer and President of SEMI Taiwan as well as a panel discussion moderated by Dr. Lih-chyi Wen, Director of the Center for Green Economy, Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research.
